City Services
City Streets
The Street Department is responsible for street and sidewalk repair. To report potholes in pavement and broken curb or sidewalk, call the Street Department at 281-261-1693 or complete the Request for Service form.
“Birdbaths” are low spots in the concrete pavement next to the curb. They are a very common problem due to the flat terrain and the composition of the area soils. During periods of wet and dry weather, the soil expands and contracts causing the pavement to settle in some spots and hold water. Large trees along the streets also remove water from the soil and cause it to compact and settle causing a dip or low spot in the pavement.
The City of Stafford has made a concerted effort to repair birdbaths when they become large enough to hold water for an extended period of time. When the depth of water along the gutter line is inch or more and extends into the street from the curb more than three feet, these areas are a candidate for repair. All such areas should be reported to the Street Department by calling 281-499-2626 or completing the Request for Service form.
