The Finance/Human Resources Department is located at 2610 S. Main Street, Stafford, Texas 77477.

The Director prepares all budgets and manages the investment of City funds and municipal bonds; maintains reports of all sales tax revenues, franchise tax revenues and debt service schedules; oversees the risk management and employee policies; and researches and prepares all financial and budget reports for the Mayor, City Council and Department Heads.

The City's fiscal year is October 1 through September 30.

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for payroll and employee benefits. Each Department Head handles the recruitment and hiring for its department. Applications for the Police Department and Fire Department can be obtained from them. Applications for all other departments can be obtained from the City Secretary's office or from this web site. Applications are accepted only for vacant positions.

The City has not had a city property tax since 1995. The City collected taxes for the Stafford Municipal School District and the Fort Bend County Water Control & Improvement District No. 2 through September of 2001. Those taxes now are collected through the Fort Bend County Tax Assessor/Collector's office which can be reached at 281-341-3710.

In accordance with chapter 176 of the Local Government Code, the City of Stafford requests a Conflict of Interest Questionnaire for all persons and companies doing business with the City. Copies of these forms may be found on this web site.
