Mosquito Control and Spraying
Stafford makes an effort to control the adult mosquito population by spraying. The Street Department’s truck sprays the entire City weekly, from around May 1 until October 1 or later as needed. Spraying begins at approximately 9 p.m. and ends after midnight when the mosquito population is the heaviest. In addition to the spraying application, the City treats standing water in the right-of-way and storm sewers with special tablets that kill the mosquito larvae. For additional information concerning mosquito control, call the Street Department at 281-499-2626.
